A Community Event Worth Celebrating
The Ruthie Dino Marshall YMCA 5K was more than a race clock and a results page. It was a community event centered on health, wellness, connection, and support. The YMCA has long served as a place where people of all ages can build healthier lives, and this race reflected that mission well.
For some participants, the goal was to race hard and compete for a place. For others, the goal was to finish, walk with friends, run with family, or support a meaningful local event. Every one of those goals matters. A strong community race makes room for all of them.
That is why local races continue to be so important. They give people a reason to train, a place to gather, and a finish line to celebrate. They also remind us that running and walking are not just individual activities. They are ways to connect with a larger community.
