The Hare is BACK for 2022. And he won't be outrun this year.

Longing for the cross country glory days of yesteryear? Or maybe you never got a chance to try out cross country as a teen? Now is your chance to relive or create new memories! Southern Tier Cross Country is a cross country series for the Greater Binghamton, NY area. Get together a group between 5 and 20 people, register as a team, and then join in the fun with team scoring, dirt, and grit! You don't have to be fast, but you DO have to be ready to have fun!

The Southern Tier Cross Country Series is a series races across the Southern Tier of New York in the vicinity of Binghamton, NY. Confluence Running Events presents this race series as a way for the greater community to participate in the sport of Cross Country running for those of us "too old" to participate in scholastic and collegiate programs.  Don't miss out on the fun of real, pure cross country racing!

Not a super competitive runner?  No worries!  We give points for both elite finishing times using normal cross country scoring, as well as participation points!  Everyone on the team - fast or slow - earns points for your team.

What's the Hare you keep hearing about? An actual rabbit (man-rabbit, it you will) that takes off ahead of the field and hides on the course. Come up with your strategy for catching him, because he can be awfully mischievous.  Catch yourself a carrot from the Hare, and you gain yourself a position point in the standings for your team. If you find one of the stuffed bunnies on the course, you get yourself a pie (yes, literally) and a point.

Race Cross Country this Fall

New this year: we lost our friend and long time STXC runner, Joe Reynolds this year. Joe brought a lot to each cross country race, season after season, and we can't let his impact on all of us go unrecognized.

This year and every year moving forward, we will be awarding the Joe Reynolds Positive Vibes Award.

Each week, a headband will be awarded to a male and female runner who have positively impacted and put out good vibes to the race as a whole. The following week, you'll be asked to wear it proudly as you have the honor to carry Joe's spirit with you that week.

WEEK ONE AWARD RECIPIENT: Kristin Olson

WEEK TWO AWARD RECIPIENT: Kateri Sibley

WEEK THREE AWARD RECIPIENT: Dan Dupree
