COROS PACE, APEX and VERTIX: Choose by Screen, Route and Fit
A watch decision gets easier when you start with your run. Do you want a quiet screen for daily mileage, a bright display for reading intervals, or a larger outdoor watch for long routes? COROS uses PACE, APEX and VERTIX for different products. A family name alone does not tell you the generation, screen or included accessories.
PACE 3, PACE 4 and PACE Pro
| Watch | Screen and route tools | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| PACE 3 | 1.2-inch transflective touchscreen with breadcrumb route guidance. | Choose this display deliberately. It is different from the AMOLED screens below. |
| PACE 4 | 1.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen. The current manufacturer page lists global landscape and topographic mapping. | Update the watch and app, then check the navigation tools you intend to use. |
| PACE Pro | 1.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen with global maps and turn-by-turn navigation. | Compare screen size on your wrist, including under a jacket cuff. |
Battery figures depend on the satellite mode, display settings and other features. Compare matching modes, then leave room for your own use. The largest headline number is a poor substitute for a charging routine you will follow.
Where APEX and VERTIX fit
The APEX 2 Pro lists sapphire glass, a titanium bezel and offline maps. The older APEX Pro is a different generation, so do not transfer specifications between them. VERTIX 2S uses a larger 1.4-inch sapphire touchscreen, a titanium bezel and offline mapping. Start with the exact model page when comparing these outdoor ranges.
A five-minute fitting check
- Read an activity screen at arm's length. Try the fields you expect to view while running.
- Operate the dial and buttons with the sleeve or gloves you use in colder weather.
- Check the band adjustment. The watch should sit securely without requiring uncomfortable pressure.
- Review one familiar route. Decide whether you want a route line, map context, or both.
- Check the charging hardware and external-sensor connection before replacing an older watch.
Watches, bands and heart-rate sensors
A replacement band is an accessory, not a watch package. The VERTIX 2 band listing specifies its model compatibility. An external heart-rate monitor is also a separate item. Keep those purchases distinct so your order matches the equipment you already own.
Build around a week you will repeat
For an interval session, set up the workout and the fields you need before reaching the track. For an easy run, reduce the screen to the information you use. For an unfamiliar route, practice loading and following a course on a familiar outing first. These are planning suggestions, not a report of a Confluence wear test.
