Fast, flat and completely different.
The course uses two laps of the runway environment, trading neighborhood turns and park paths for long sight lines, smooth pavement and a wide-open sky. It is a distinctive setting for runners chasing a strong 5K and for participants who simply want the novelty of moving down an active-airport runway under race-day control.
Race-night experience
Recent editions have included a race shirt, commemorative medal and post-race gathering for eligible registrants. The most important part is the venue itself: the race gives participants controlled access to a piece of regional infrastructure that is normally experienced from inside an aircraft.
Results, photos & airport memories
The runway setting produces some of Confluence Running’s most distinctive race photography. The event page now acts as the front door to that history.
