Healthy Kids Running Series Binghamton Fall 2026 Week 1: Results, Photos & Returning Faces
The Healthy Kids Running Series Binghamton Fall 2026 opened September 20 at Otsiningo Park with everything that makes youth running memorable: nervous starts, big smiles, muddy shoes, familiar families and a new group of young runners beginning their own Healthy Kids story.
A returning core — and kids growing with the series
Comparing the published initial-and-surname entries from the Fall 2026 Week 1 results with the Spring 2026 final results, 34 of the 63 Fall Week 1 names also appear on the spring roster. Because the public results use initials, this is a roster match rather than an identity claim, but it shows a substantial returning core.
Among the familiar names are V. Havrylyshyn, E. Lowrie, C. Gorman, B. Richardson, S. Kelly, E. Gawors, L. Gilbert, D. Brand, N. DeAngelo, S. Pelzel Poklemba, C. Denmon, W. Walsh, M. Hess, J. Horan, D. Fish, F. Lowrie, L. Magacs, T. Denmon, A. Walsh, B. Fuentes, A. Horan, L. Pelzel Poklemba, M. Grygus, T. Farrell and R. Walsh.
That continuity is especially fun when the age divisions change with the school year. N. DeAngelo and S. Pelzel Poklemba moved from the Spring Pre-K 4/5 division into Fall K/1. M. Hess, J. Horan, D. Fish and E. Newby made that move on the boys side. F. Lowrie and L. Magacs progressed from Spring K/1 into Fall 2nd/3rd. The series is doing exactly what a multi-season youth program should do: giving kids a place to keep coming back and grow into the next race.

Are there first-timers?
There are certainly new names relative to Spring 2026: 29 of the 63 Fall Week 1 entries do not appear on the Spring 2026 final-results roster. That does not automatically make all 29 first-time Healthy Kids runners. For example, J. Oakley and P. Poole are absent from the Spring 2026 final list but appear in Fall 2025 results, showing how a runner can return after sitting out a season.
In the recent Binghamton rosters checked — Spring 2025, Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 — we did not find G. Blakeslee, A. Brechko, I. Ramkumar, R. Mordoff, D. Spadavecchia, H. Weiler, E. Evans or J. Stalica. They may be first-time HKRS runners, although older seasons could still contain earlier appearances.
Week 1 results highlights
Healthy Kids races are about participation and progress first, but the results also give families a useful season-to-season benchmark. Here are a few of the Week 1 leaders and close finishes from the official results.
V. Havrylyshyn, C. Gorman, S. Kelly, M. Jackson and D. Brand were the first listed finishers in their respective divisions.

The Binghamton Healthy Kids story keeps building
One of the best parts of photographing and documenting this series year after year is being able to look backward. The archive now connects families to earlier results, race stories and photo galleries rather than letting each season disappear when the next one begins.
