The All-New HOKA Cielo X1 2.0: A Game-Changing Super Racer

The HOKA Cielo X1 2.0 is a carbon-plated road racer built for runners chasing speed over longer distances. It reduced weight from the original Cielo X1, refined the rocker geometry, and paired dual PEBA foam layers with a winged carbon plate.

Designed for speed and efficiency
The Cielo X1 2.0 built on the protective, smooth feel of the original while becoming more race-focused. At about 228 g, the 2.0 cut meaningful weight through a lighter engineered-mesh upper and reduced outsole material.
HOKA also shifted the rocker geometry to encourage a quicker heel-to-toe transition and stronger forward roll as pace increases.
Dual PEBA layers + carbon plate
The midsole uses two PEBA foam layers around a winged carbon plate. The goal is a combination of cushioning, stability, and efficient toe-off rather than an ultra-minimal racing-flat feel.

A lighter, more breathable upper
The 2.0 moved from the original model's knit construction to a thinner engineered mesh. That change was intended to improve lockdown and airflow while trimming weight for race day.
Who is the Cielo X1 2.0 for?
This is a performance-focused shoe for runners who want a highly cushioned carbon-plated racer for half-marathons, marathons, and other fast road efforts. Its substantial foam and rocker make it a different experience from a traditional low-profile racing flat.
