What makes the R1R different?
The R1R carries the long-distance character of R1 but replaces its regular outsole with a quieter rubber option. The manufacturer lists a 9 oz men's size 9 weight, about half an ounce more than the standard R1. It retains LightCELL cushioning, ZeroSag inserts and TUNEDFIT dual lacing, making it useful for long road training and road ultras when outsole feel matters to you.
Terrain: Road running and road races; not intended as a substitute for the H1 or T1 trail outsoles.
Best use: Road ultras / multi-day.
