Confluence Running Elite Team

The Confluence Running Elite Team is the competitive athlete team representing Confluence Running on roads, trails, cross-country courses, tracks, and at endurance events. It replaces our older ambassador-program concept with a clearer focus on accomplished athletes, meaningful community involvement, and authentic representation of the sport.

What the team represents

Fast athletes. Good community members. Real connection to the sport.

Elite Team athletes represent more than race results. We value performance, sportsmanship, consistency, local involvement, and the ability to contribute positively to the broader running and endurance community.

Compete

Represent Confluence Running in meaningful races and events while pursuing serious performance goals.

Connect

Be visible members of the running community through races, group runs, events, training, and authentic interactions with other athletes.

Contribute

Help strengthen the sport by sharing experience, encouraging participation, and supporting the community around Confluence Running.

Selection

A team, not a generic influencer program.

Selection for the Elite Team is intentional. Competitive performance matters, but so do character, reliability, community participation, and fit with Confluence Running's service and education-focused culture. Team structure, benefits, expectations, and openings may change from season to season.

Team Confluence

Dan Schaffer

Endicott, New York native

Dan Schaffer is an Endicott, New York native whose running career has taken him from New York State championships to NCAA All-American honors and professional competition. A former Binghamton University standout and professional runner for ZAP Endurance, Dan continues to represent the Southern Tier running community through his accomplishments on the track and the roads.

  • Graduate of Maine-Endwell High School
  • 28th place finisher at Nike Cross Country Nationals
  • New York State Federation Champion in the Boys Outdoor 1600m
Team Confluence

Josh Stone

Windsor, New York native

Josh Stone is a distance runner, assistant coach at Binghamton University, and former Bearcat standout. A Windsor native and lifelong Southern Tier runner, Josh proudly competes for Confluence Running while representing the Southern Tier on the road and the track.

  • Lifelong Southern Tier runner
  • Four-time America East Champion in the 5,000m
  • Three-time First Team All-Conference selection in cross country.
