Pick a reliable place to cheer

Choose your viewing point with your runner before race morning. Agree on the side of the street, a visible landmark, and an estimated arrival window based on their own start time. Plan one dependable sighting before adding another.

Choose your supporter plan

One cheer point

Choose one club location. Arrive early, stay on the agreed side, and then travel to your reunion point. This leaves fewer transfers to manage.

One Manhattan neighborhood

Base your day near one agreed First Avenue or uptown location. Add a second sighting only after checking the current course, pedestrian crossings, and travel time.

The finish approach

Use NYRR’s current viewing instructions and ticket links. Leave enough time for screening and for your runner to leave the post-finish area.

Support from elsewhere

Use the official tracking and viewing links on NYRR’s website. Send your encouragement before the start and agree when to expect a message afterward.

Make the reunion specific

NYRR’s 2026 finish instructions place the runner exit at West 77th Street. Your reunion point should sit outside the runner-only area and work with the current finish map.

Write down the street address, a backup landmark, and what to do if phone service fails. Allow time for your runner to reach the exit. Avoid using the finish line itself as your meeting point.

Cheer with the course open

Stay behind the barriers, keep entrances clear, and follow marshals’ directions. Use designated crossings. Keep your support on the spectator side and cheer for the runners around yours.

Use NYRR’s current guide for bridge restrictions, finish viewing, security, tracking, and broadcast links.
