The 2026 Southern Tier Cross Country Series continued on Saturday, October 3, at Greene Lions Club Park in Greene, New York. The Race 2 field included 77 registered runners, with a foggy start, a compact looped course and plenty of classic STXC team energy.

Race 2 Recap

The course used multiple loops through Lions Club Park, with the finish near the pavilion and plenty of opportunities for runners to see teammates, competitors and spectators throughout the race. The morning had everything you want from cross country: damp air, grass, hills, team colors and runners working hard all the way through the finish.

Course crew thank-you: Amy, Brian, Lauren and Mike put in the work to get the course ready and help make Race 2 happen. And yes, the course did its job — Matt's heart rate hit 184. Just sayin'.

A Real Cross-Country Morning

Race 2 gave the series a different feel from the Owego opener: tighter loops, a pavilion-side finish and a compact venue that kept runners and teams connected throughout the race. Trail shoes and spikes were right at home on the course.
