2026 STXC Race 3 Results: Marathon, NY

The paper finish order places Jakob Getchell (NERR, bib 614) first, followed by an athlete handwritten as “Erick” whose full name and bib are not yet confirmed. Gavin Bowers of Bogus City Striders is listed third, Matthew Francis Gawors of Team Confluence - Team RWB fourth, and Benjamin Olson of Bogus City Striders fifth.

Megan Gossfeld of Surly Wabbits is the first identified woman in the results, eighth overall. The sheet also lists Kara Gorgos at place 14, although a handwritten correction needs confirmation, and Christine Reynolds at place 16.

Race 3 XC Team Scores (Provisional)

Under the series' five-runner men's and women's scoring setup, the matched finishers give Bogus City Striders an early advantage in both divisions. These are provisional calculations only, because unresolved runners can affect gender placements and scoring.

Lower points win in cross-country team scoring. The combined Team Confluence - Team RWB had five matched male and four matched female finishers. Mixed-team scoring and updated season standings are not final until participant review is complete.

Race Report: Marathon Brings the Teams Back Together

The first finishers tell part of Race 3's story. Getchell led the listed finish order, and two Bogus City Striders, Gavin Bowers and Benjamin Olson, were inside the first five. Michael Olson added another Bogus finish in seventh. By the eleventh finishing place, Joshua Johnson had crossed as well. Doug Barnes then completed the team's first five male finishers at overall place 13.

Team Confluence - Team RWB answered with Matthew Francis Gawors in fourth, Charles Ramsden in ninth and Mike Hampton in tenth. Michael Ramsden and Michael Zur appear later in the men's results at 31st and 32nd overall, completing that merged team's five confirmed male scoring runners. These five produced a provisional score of 61.

Hellcat Harriers assembled a different kind of sequence. Matthew Vaglica, Jonathan Barton and Samuel Spero were recorded consecutively in 22nd, 23rd and 24th place. Trevor Nash followed at 26th and Bill Rogers at 28th. Their five confirmed male scorers currently add to 90 points, subject to final identity checks.

On the women's side, the finish order puts Megan Gossfeld first among identified female runners at eighth overall. Christine Reynolds and Jenna Gawors appear at 16th and 25th overall for the merged Confluence/RWB team. For Bogus City Striders, Rebecca Bowers, Katie Bushey, Kristin Olson, Jessica Swift and Amy Derkowski make up five matched women's scoring runners. Hellcat Harriers' matched scoring group includes Shannon Elbrecht-Nash, Cathie Rogers, Diana Bean, Brianna Walburger and Jessica Clement.

That is why an XC result is more than an individual placing. The athletes who fill out the second half of a team change the team picture. Once the organizer verifies the remaining bibs and the handwritten corrections, we will update the results and calculate the remaining divisions and season standings.
