Confluence Running

Our take

The Glycerin Max 2 takes a different approach from the standard Glycerin: a much taller cushioning platform, DNA TUNED foam and a pronounced GlideRoll transition. We see its strongest use in easy road mileage, longer steady efforts and walking for people who enjoy an assisted heel-to-toe feel.

It isn't the default choice for every runner. People who prefer direct ground feel, firm cushioning or rapid direction changes should compare lower-stack alternatives. Smooth road loops and even rail-trail surfaces make more sense than technical off-road terrain.

Fit before category

Fit & feel

The rocker shape is as important as the amount of foam. Take a few steps, jog if appropriate, and decide whether the shoe's forward roll works with your stride. Check forefoot space, instep pressure and heel hold. The Max 2 should not automatically inherit your original Glycerin Max sizing. A softer ride is useful only when your foot remains comfortably held and you feel confident moving in the shoe.

We fit shoes against your foot shape, width, comfort, movement and intended use—not just a label like “neutral” or “stability.”

How the shoe works

Technology & ride

DNA TUNED foam uses differently tuned cells in the heel and forefoot. GlideRoll Rocker geometry combines a beveled heel and curved toe spring for assisted heel-to-toe movement.
