“I ran my 1:18:23 half marathon PR at the Binghamton Bridge Run in the Adrenaline.”

Confluence Running

Our take

The Adrenaline GTS 26 is still recognizably an Adrenaline: dependable, guided and easy to live with. We would reach for it for runners and walkers who want everyday stability without the shoe feeling aggressively corrective. It makes the most sense on roads, sidewalks and predictable surfaces. If you're heading into the Binghamton University Nature Preserve, that's where we'd switch into a trail shoe like the Saucony Peregrine rather than force a road shoe onto roots, dirt and variable footing.

Fit before category

Fit & feel

Fit this shoe to the person, not the category label. We look at foot shape, width, volume, comfort, movement and how the shoe feels in motion. The GTS 26 works best when the GuideRails support feels natural and the upper holds the foot securely without creating pressure.

We fit shoes against your foot shape, width, comfort, movement and intended use—not just a label like “neutral” or “stability.”

Use the shoe somewhere real

Where we'd run or walk it

Instead of stopping at “road” or “trail,” these are real local places that make this shoe's use case easier to understand.

Binghamton / Southern Tier

Greater Binghamton Bridge Run

Road · city streets · bridges

Good for: Half marathon racing · 5K racing · race-pace workouts

A signature Binghamton road race that turns downtown streets and bridges into a real test of rhythm, durability and late-race strength.

Shoe choice: Matt ran a 1:18:23 half marathon PR here in the Brooks Adrenaline, making the Bridge Run part of Confluence's own Adrenaline race history.

Binghamton / Johnson City

Binghamton West Side

Road + sidewalk · rolling neighborhood

Good for: Daily miles · walking · easy and steady runs

The West Side's sidewalks and neighborhood streets around Recreation Park and Riverside Drive are the kind of repeatable everyday miles where a dependable road trainer makes sense.

Shoe choice: Adrenaline territory: pavement, sidewalks and everyday mileage. If you head into the Binghamton University Nature Preserve, switch to a trail shoe for roots, dirt and variable footing.

Hudson Valley / Middletown

Heritage Trail

Asphalt + limestone rail trail · mostly flat

Good for: Long runs · walking · marathon mileage

The Heritage Trail is built for predictable, repeatable road-style mileage without needing to plan a complicated route. That makes it a natural place for an everyday support trainer.

Shoe choice: Use the Adrenaline for the smooth, steady miles here; move to trail footwear when your route shifts onto rougher single-track elsewhere in the Hudson Valley.

Who is it for?

The Adrenaline GTS 26 is built for runners and walkers who want a stable, dependable everyday shoe with structured guidance rather than an aggressive corrective feel. It is designed for road running, daily training, walking and long hours on your feet.

Confluence fitting note: fit and support needs are individual. We look at foot shape, width, comfort, movement and how the shoe feels in motion—not just a category label—when helping someone decide whether the Adrenaline is the right match.

Local expertise · New York since 2013

Where can I try the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 26 in New York?

Confluence Running began in Binghamton in 2013 and now serves runners and walkers in Binghamton / Johnson City, Corning, Middletown / Hudson Valley, Watertown / North Country and Lake Placid. In-store availability begins with the November 1 launch as inventory is received.

Why trust Confluence on Adrenaline fit?

Our Dynamic Footwear Specialists start with the person—not a formula. We talk through your training, walking or work needs, current shoes, fit history and goals; measure length and width when useful; consider foot shape and volume; and use movement observation and side-by-side shoe comparisons when they add value. The Adrenaline is a long-running favorite, but we still fit it against your individual comfort and needs rather than assuming a stability label makes it the right shoe.

Confluence Running has also been recognized among the Best Running Stores for five consecutive years, 2022–2026, reflecting a broader commitment to specialty footwear, education and local running communities across New York.
