| Race division | 2025 winning time | 2026 winning time | 2026 minus 2025 top-10 cutoff, seconds | 2026 minus 2025 top-25 cutoff, seconds | Field size |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Manhattan Boys Eastern States Championship | 12:04.9 | 12:04.3 | +8.30 | +1.00 | 166 to 223 |

| Mount Academy Varsity Girls | 19:31.5 | 18:57.30 | -68.11 | -148.28 | 72 to 138 |
Negative cutoff changes mean faster 2026 times. The Manhattan boys Eastern States winning time was 0.6 seconds faster, while its top-25 cutoff was 1.0 second slower. The girls winning time was 20.4 seconds slower, while the 20 athletes matched within that same named division had a median change of 0.8 seconds faster. Entrants, field sizes and conditions differ, so a winning time alone does not establish the strength of a returning group.

Positive athlete differences mean faster 2026 times. Both faster and slower examples remain visible. Matching requires normalized name and school, sex, the same distance and a one-year grade advance. Different divisions retain both labels in the tracker.

Regional schools: same-division McQuaid comparisons
These groups contain matched athletes over three miles who stayed in the same named race division between 2025 and 2026. Names, schools, sex labels and one-year grade progression must match.
| School | Matched athletes | Faster in 2026 | Median seconds faster |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beaver River | 11 | 10 | 76.2 |
| Chenango Forks | 4 | 4 | 79.3 |
| Corning | 17 | 15 | 66.3 |

| Ithaca | 14 | 13 | 36.85 |
| Lake Placid | 8 | 7 | 71.75 |
| South Jefferson | 5 | 2 | -0.1 |
| Vestal | 9 | 7 | 54.2 |
Positive seconds indicate a faster 2026 time; negative seconds indicate a slower time. The sample combines boys and girls. Sample sizes, race conditions and the mix of athletes differ, so these changes describe each matched group and cannot rank team strength. Chenango Forks has only four qualifying pairs.
Elmira has eight faster results among nine qualifying pairs, with a median 83.7 seconds faster. Corning has 15 among 17, with a median 66.3 seconds faster. South Jefferson has a nearly unchanged median in its five-pair sample. Open the comparison tracker to inspect individual races and divisions.

The official timer resolves differences in the secondary copy, including a missing varsity-girls finisher, one runner placed in a different division with a different time, and freshman distance labels. These searchable tables use the timer and organizer. The original 2026 PDF remains available.
| Varsity division | 2025 winning time | 2026 winning time | 2026 minus 2025 top-10 cutoff, seconds | 2026 minus 2025 top-25 cutoff, seconds | Field-size change |

| Varsity Boys | 14:58.4 | 15:12.5 | -28.9 | -39.7 | -20 |
| Varsity Girls | 17:30.8 | 16:31.8 | -23.4 | -14.9 | -35 |
Negative cutoff changes mean faster 2026 recorded times. The boys had a 39.7-second faster top-25 cutoff while the winner was 14.1 seconds slower. The girls had a 59.0-second faster winning time and a 14.9-second faster top-25 cutoff, while the top-50 cutoff was 11.6 seconds slower. These describe the finish-time distribution. Field sizes, entrants and conditions differ.

Their five-kilometer times remain separate from McQuaid three-mile comparisons.
